Keep MDF dry: dust with a soft cloth and wipe spills immediately, especially at edges and joins. Use coasters and avoid soaking, steam, harsh cleaners and high humidity.
Everyday care
Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Clean finished surfaces with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately, paying particular attention to edges and joins.
Spills and stains
Remove spills at once. Moisture entering a damaged edge or fixing hole can cause swelling that may not be reversible.
Protecting the surface
Use coasters and mats, and keep the item in a dry, well-ventilated room. Lift objects rather than dragging them.
What to avoid
Do not soak, steam-clean or use abrasive pads, bleach or strong solvents. Avoid prolonged contact with water and high humidity.
Material characteristics
MDF is an engineered board. Moisture entering exposed or damaged edges can cause permanent swelling.
Additional care
Always follow any manufacturer-specific instructions supplied with the product where they differ from this general guidance. If in doubt, stop and seek advice from the manufacturer or a suitable furniture-care specialist.
